Spring Creek Distinctives

The following acrostic summarizes Spring Creek Church.
Symbols – Baptism and Communion are visual reminders of Christ and commanded ordinances for the church. Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward reality of a personal faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41 -42, Romans 6). The communion elements point us to the broken body and shed blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:17 -34).
Prayer – We take calling on the Lord seriously both privately and corporately. All groups take time to talk and listen to God. We bear one another’s burdens.
Relationships – People often find lifelong friends here. We are a spiritual family of believers in Jesus and those relationships are built in Life Groups and service opportunities.
International outreach - We take Christ’s words to take the gospel to the world seriously by actively involving our church family in mission projects and supporting missionaries with love, finances and prayer.
New Birth – Every member acknowledges that they have been born again spiritually.
Growth – We seek to grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are intentional about growing spiritually. Ministries are designed to help us grow into the likeness of Christ.
Change – Jesus came into the world to change our lives. We should all be changing as we grow to be more like Christ. As the culture changes we must be willing to change ministries without changing the message. We have changed locations, pastors, styles of music, methods of evangelism but we remain faithful to the unchanging gospel of Christ.
Relevant Bible Teaching - The Word of God is completely true and is the primary change agent in ouor lives. The Bible is our source of authority concerning faith, doctrine and practice.
Enduring - We are over 120 years old yet our best days are still ahead of us. We have been blessed by God to have a rich heritage. God has chosen to bless us not because of anything we have done, but because He has favored us.
Every member ministers - We expect people to serve the Lord in the church and community.
Kids - We believe children should learn to love God and learn and obey the Bible.
